As quite a few people have noticed, it'southward not possible to link images hosted on imgur on these forums anymore. Which is non merely annoying, as imgur is probably the well-nigh convenient image hosting site available, but also mystifying, equally support only suddenly stopped most a calendar week ago, resulting in the "Zoinks!" mistake message.
I take contacted imgur virtually this and just received a rather interesting response:

"Thanks for writing. Unfortunately that site has been blocked from hotlinking due to abuse of Imgur's terms of service (). Imgur's ToS prohibits using Imgur for a content commitment network on websites with a defended section for selling things and/or commercial purposes."

I'm guessing that they are refering to the trading section, which is obviously non meant for commercial purposes at all. Why they are cutting back up at present even though the trading forums have been around forever, I will never know. I will respond to them trying to explicate the state of affairs, merely if that doesn't piece of work, could someone from the site contact them and try to sort this out please? Quite a few people were using imgur in the WBAYDN and PAPOYLBH threads and this whole development is rather abrasive, to be honest.
What is hotlinking? I accept no trouble copy and pasting the direct link to images here.
I used it last night and it worked every bit usual? Did this change today?

Quite a few people in the WBAYDN and PAPOYLBH threads accept reported being unable to use imgur since about a week ago, resulting the higher up "Zoinks!" image. As far as I can tell, this just affects people using the desktop site, non people using the imgur app from their phones.
I judge that actually makes sense as far every bit I understand the term "hotlinking", which is basically a copy&paste of the hosted image URL which automatically gets converted into an image by the forums. I'm guessing the phone app works in a different way?
Must exist, I upload the epitome to imgur on my phone simply use an iPad to copy and paste the directly link and browse BA

But got a reply from imgur:
"This was really in reference to the store department on the site. Our Terms of Service do not allow hotlinking on sites with a dedicated section for selling things and/or commercial purposes. However, I come across that no role of Imgur is being used every bit a CDN, and that images on Imgur are solely used within the forums.
As such at this time I've ensured that there are no blocks from us preventing images from displaying on the site. Issues causing images to incorrectly display solely on Desktop, and not on other platforms may exist attributed to issues on the website itself, and not on our end."

Yeah, I don't know what to make of this anymore...

The last time I tried, no. I tried posting from my phone and laptop (someone suggested this could exist the event) but that did non seem to make a difference. I'll try it again next time I mail service and we'll see what happens. Odd that it works for some people and not others.

I haven't had any problems. I have 2 workflows that vary based on if I'chiliad using my desktop or phone.
Desktop: copy the BBCode choice when you select an image (on the right side for me), and paste in the forum reply box. Or follow the footstep beneath.

Phone: re-create the directly image link, and paste into the forum reply box. Insert (IMG) and (/IMG) on either side of the link, but substitute the parentheses () for square brackets [] (I'd do that, simply the forum would think I'm trying to post an prototype, resulting in a dud 'paradigm' posted).

Hopefully this doesn't result in more than people using Imgur for the wrong purposes, as I think they are the best image hosting site for my purposes.

Yup, that works dandy. Snörkel glasses rule!
For those who take a Facebook account, you can mail service photos to Facebook and if you have a browser that allows you lot to copy the image URL, yous can post pics from in that location. I accept to employ Maxthon to do it but it works fine.

That would non be considered a 'direct epitome link'.
The notable departure between an prototype link and a straight paradigm link is that latter will only take yous to the photo. There volition be no Imgur interface when yous go to the link. For this reason, you tin can embed (with the codes I outlined above) direct image links into the forum here, but cannot embed prototype links (since it would require a click).

Edit: Holy schnikies. Had no clue you could copy and paste an "prototype link" and information technology would embed itself. It uses a dissimilar method than the directly BBCode which is, perhaps, function of the 'hotlinking' issue. Notice the last ane (direct link + BBCode) has no mention of Imgur effectually the prototype.

Edit edit: further clarity. All the links in a higher place were copied straight out of the Imgur website and pasted on here. I did not manually reformat anything (as I do when I post via my phone).

Seems to be a pain in the donkey I simply switched to postimage.org and utilize the bulletin board size. I then copy it equally a hotlink for forums.

I use the Imgur website on my laptop to upload photos from my laptop to WBAYDN and NBS.
Seems to work OK except that border is fairly new.
But posting this as a test from my desktop. Works every bit e'er. Not certain why some of us are having no issues and others it is glitching. FYI, on the desktop I utilize Directly Link from the list of options.

Thats what I ever practise. I haven't posted any pictures since Sabbatum, but it worked fine then simply using the Direct Link option.

Interesting that it formats for y'all. It makes me wonder how it formats (BBCode or otherwise). I'm curious if net browser would take an issue...? I use the latest Chrome just nearly all the time and my direct prototype links will non format for me (example above).
For folks experiencing the error: which link do yous re-create? What internet browser do you use?
Correct, I click the copy push button for the direct link option and paste directly into image hither on BA. When clicking re-create information technology puts the code directly into the paste option for you lot so when y'all go back to BA merely hit paste and your ready to roll. I use this method on Safari and Chrome and information technology works bully on both.

I have a picture with my phone, upload to imgur with the app, and copy from my Cromebook to BA. Just FYI. I'll check subsequently today when I go a take chances and run across if it is yet working for me.
The fashion I do it with mine is take pic with phone, beingness on Apple it goes directly to my PC one time I have pic. So I upload to Imgur and am fix to paste into BA when I want.
If I am using my PC I have to import flick into the PC from my phone then proceed with same process every bit with Apple tree. I accept been doing this for probably six-eight mos and never had whatsoever issues.

What I do is click the direct link box, highlight the link, Ctrl+C, then click the prototype icon- a box appears, then Ctrl+V in the box that appeared, then click insert works every time from my Windows 7 PC using Chrome.

What annoys me is that I have always used imgur to post images here and never had any problems with it. And then, from one day to the next, it just stops working and I tin can't figure out why. Particularly since even though a few others have the same problem, it seems to be working just fine for near people. I have not changed any settings on my PC recently. I will just accept to switch to postimage, I guess, which works fine for me, but the whole thing nonetheless bugs me.
